Kota Kinabalu: A 26-year-old woman was inches from certain death during a freak accident in Grace Court, Sembulan, Sunday morning (pic).

Although she escaped with minor injuries, her Honda City was a total loss.  She was on her way to Tg Aru from Kota Kinabalu when she lost control of her vehicle.

As a result, she is believed to have hit a tree before landing on its roof in the drain by the roadside.

Firefighters received an emergency call at 1.28am, but as soon as the rescue team arrived at the scene, the victim had already been pulled out of the wrecked car by members of the public.

The victim suffered minor injuries to her body and hands. Sargeant Fazli was the investigating officer at the scene.
