SANDAKAN: President of Sandakan Tourism Association (Stan), Teo Chee Kim (pic), said many tourism players in the district have yet to receive the RM20,000 tourism grant under the State Government stimulus package nearly five months after it was announced.The RM10 million tourism development grant was first announced by the then Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal in June this year as part of the State Government stimulus package under “The Sabah New Deal”.
Under the scheme, tourism stakeholders in the State can apply for the grant up to a maximum sum of RM20,000 for the upgrading of tourism infrastructure such as homestay facilities and community-based tourism products.
