Kota Kinabalu: The Pew Research Centre reckons, there will be 2.8 billion Muslims globally by 2050 or, more than a quarter of the world’s population, with Muslim women making up at least 1.4 billion.The just released “State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) Report 2020/21” launched in Singapore at Reimagine: Halal in Asia 2020, ranked Malaysia tops in four of six categories the world’s most Muslim-friendly destination. The survey covered 81 countries, comprising Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries as well as non-OIC countries with a prominent halal industry. Muslim women dominate in high-paying jobs in the civil service and GLS in Malaysia, and their spending is helpful to boost the economic recovery in the retail and other sectors.
