Kuala Lumpur: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (pic) congratulated the Sarawak State Government for successfully signing a commercial agreement with Petronas on Monday, saying Sabah wants a similar deal with the national oil and gas company. He said the agreement allows the Sarawak Government, through its subsidiary Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros), to play a bigger role in the oil and gas industry through cooperation with Petronas.
The agreement shows Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s continued commitment and sincerity in giving Sabah and Sarawak their rights as stipulated under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), said Dr Jeffrey who is also Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) Sabah President.
