SANDAKAN: Holding an election does not necessary lead to an imminent rise of Covid-19 cases unless there is lack of enforcement to ensure all parties involved in the campaigns comply with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) set out by the Election Commission.Member of Parliament for Sandakan, Vivian Wong said that after raising a question on how to “Ensure A Safe Election Process For All During The Covid-19 Pandemic” in Parliament recently.
The question was submitted before a state of emergency was declared for Batu Sapi on Nov 18.
