Indonesian woman smuggler held
Among the items seized from the woman.
TAWAU:  A 43-year-old Indonesian woman was detained by the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) on suspicion of trying to smuggle in food items and utensils without a valid permit, here, Monday.

Esscom Commander, Datuk Ahmad Fuad Othman said the woman was nabbed on board a boat heading towards the Sg Tawau Lama estuary at Mile 3 Jalan Apas.

Security enforcement teams on Op Cegah Pati patrol consisting marine police, General Operations Force Battalion 14 and the armed forces led by Esscom went to the location after receiving information on smuggling activities.
“The team managed to track and intercept the boat laden with goods believed to be smuggled into the country,” he said.
