Kota Kinabalu: Some RM56,000 had been raised by a consultant nephrologist and his friends to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) to be distributed to haemodialysis centres in Sabah.

Recognising the urgent need to provide PPE to haemodialysis staff in the State during the recent surge of Covid-19 cases, Dr Morris Wo who oversees the group of Nobel Haemodialysis Centres in Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud had rallied his friends from all over Malaysia to help.

“With the money collected, Wo managed to purchase six units of Powered Air-Purifying Respirators (PAPR) and 11,700 pieces of KN95 disposable respirators, which all arrived in Sabah on Dec 2,” said a statement, Thursday.
“Due to the restriction of travel under the Movement Control Order (MCO), Wo was unable to come to Sabah in person.
