Amway donates 100 food baskets to Covid-19 affected families

Kota Kinabalu: Amway Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Amway Malaysia) announced a donation of 100 Food Baskets worth RM32,360 to support the Social Welfare Department (JKM) in uplifting affected families in Sabah, currently the worst impacted state in Malaysia, following the third wave of Covid-19 outbreak.

Each food basket contains basic necessities which include 5kg rice bags, sardines, milk, eggs, noodles, biscuits, flour, salt, sugar, hand sanitisers, granola bars, supplements.

Receiving the donations on behalf of JKM was Shahelmey Yahya, Sabah Minister of Community Development and People Wellbeing, who said that Amway Malaysia’s contributions would help to mitigate the impacts of health crisis in communities.

“We are deeply grateful for Amway Malaysia’s timely assistance to families who were badly affected by the Covid-19 restrictions,” he said.

Amway has provided support for the Ministry of Health (MOH) and JKM, bringing the total of cash and in-kind contributions worth more than RM2.5 million.
