Govt urged to invest more on green tech
SANDAKAN: The Federal Government must increase investment and expenditure on strategic sectors such as green technology, especially in Sabah, to tackle the rising unemployment problem due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

DAP’s Sandakan Member of Parliament Vivian Wong (pic) said this was also proposed by former Human Resource Minister M. Kulasegaran and former Energy, Science and Technology Minister Yeo Bee Yin.

She said this in response to a written reply in the Dewan Rakyat by the Human Resource Minister on the current unemployment figures in Sabah, especially among the youths.

In his reply, the Minister said based on the 2019 data, the unemployment rate in Sabah stood at 5.8pc or 117,100 persons in total.
