Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 429 positive Covid-19 cases on Saturday, with nearly half (49.7 per cent) contributed by screening carried out on existing and new clusters.State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic), in a statement Saturday on the latest Covid-19 development in the State, said 213 cases were from existing and new clusters, and 124 from close contact screenings in 14 districts.
Forty-four cases were from symptomatic screenings, 23 from community screenings and 25 from other categories.
“The high number of cases also stems from the screening of the Rumah Merah cluster at the Manggatal Temporary Detention Centre, which recorded a total of 112 cases,” said Masidi, who is also the State’s Covid-19 spokesperson.
