KUALA PENYU: Uncollected rubbish and long uncut grass are two issues that need to be attended to promptly and properly by the local authorities, says State Local Government and Housing Assistant Minister Datuk Isnain Aliasnih. He said the issues are quite prevalent in many districts in the State, which are among the main causes of clogged drains and ditches that contribute to or worsen flash floods.
“Therefore, it is imperative for local councillors to not take the issues lightly. They should check and ensure the rubbish are collected and the grass are cut regularly,” he said when officiating the swearing-in of 18 newly-appointed councillors of the Kuala Penyu District Council, here, recently.
