Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Sabah’s move to spread its wings to Peninsular Malaysia was not influenced by Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) Chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Its Secretary-General Datuk Loretto Padua Jr (pic) said Warisan’s move to expand beyond Sabah was made on its own accord.
“It was certainly not influenced by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad or any other individual. The idea of unity and building a nation not based on a specific race or religion that forms the basis of Warisan has also captured the imagination of many Malaysians, especially those tired of racial and religious polemics,” he said in a statement.
As such, Loretto said Warisan could be an alternative party that is aligned with the values of Malaysians who believed in dignified politics, credibility, harmony and co-existence.
