Kota Kinabalu: The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) is in the dark over the death of a Sabahan allegedly due to consuming bootleg alcohol in Johor Baru on Dec 8.KPDNHEP when contacted said there were no reports of illegal liquor so far this year and advised the public to be smart consumers by buying goods from legitimate companies only.
“Make sure the drinks bought are from a legitimate seller or company, consumers must always be smart and careful when buying, especially when festive season is just around the corner,” he said on Wednesday.
According to the victim’s nephew, his uncle and 10 other friends drank canned liquor containing 18 per cent alcohol in Johor Baru.
