SANDAKAN: Motorists and road users were urged to be cautious of landslide during the rainy season while plying the road to Sandakan Town along Jalan Sim-Sim, which is close to the cliff opposite the Sandakan Yatch Club.Tanjung Papat Assemblyman, Datuk Frankie Poon (pic), inspected the said area and instructed his team to contact the relevant authorities for further precautionary action upon receiving complaints from the public.
He pointed out that the frequent raining lately will cause the soil to loosen and shift further, increasing the risk of a possible landslide of rocks and large trees to occur on roads or nearby commercial and residential areas.
“In fact, there are some huge rocks in that location. Therefore, locals need to be extra vigilant.
