Kota Kinabalu: About 862 families under the B40 category in Beluran are expected to benefit from a proposed project to plant hybrid coconut on 13,000 acres of State land in the district.Koperasi Anugerah Setia Marudu Berhad will be seeking approval from the State Government to develop the land for the benefit of rural communities in the district.
Its Chairman Dato’ Vincent Mojuga (pic) said the co-operative would undertake a joint venture with Sabah Land Development Board (SLDB) which came up with the proposal.
“We (co-operative) will be paying a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor soon to seek approval to develop the land that would involve families from more than 20 villages.
