Kota Kinabalu: City Police Chief ACP Habibi Majinji said almost RM1 million ringgit was collected from 812 offenders since the first MCO (Movement Control Order) was imposed in mid-March this year.
He said during the CMCO period effective from Oct. 13, a total of 558 people were compounded for violating the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
The offenders were imposed RM1,000 each for offenses at a later stage as a means to curb the spread.
“Starting from the first MCO earlier this year, 254 were compounded for the same offence, making the total number of individuals compounded so far this year at 812 with a total compound of almost one million,” he said.
