KUNAK: The weekly Kunak Tamu (farmer’s market) is set to reopen after the local authority (PBT) seeks advice from the Malaysian Health Ministry (MOH) on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to be imposed. Kunak District Council Executive Officer (MDKNK) Mohd Shoffian Mohd Said said obtaining advice on the SOPs and efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19 transmission is important for the well-being and health of the community as a whole.
“We will hold a meeting with the District PKOB Chairman (Disaster Operations Control Centre), including the MOH and other agencies before deciding to reopen the tamu here,” he said when contacted by Daily Express.
According to Shoffian, the concession company responsible for maintenance would also be contacted to ensure the smooth running of the market operations with compliance with regulations issued by relevant authorities.
