Kota Kinabalu: Some 225 national type Chinese school students in Sabah benefitted from the RM45,000 educational aid by the China Ambassador Office in Kota Kinabalu.
Sabah Dong Lian Association (Association of Sabah National Type Chinese School Management Committees) Kota Kinabalu Zone chairman Dexter Lim Ming Guan said the Office presented the assistance to all 91 schools under the Association.
“We hope it could help out the poor and needy families,” he said in a statement, Saturday. Every recipient will receive RM200. Under the current situation, most had been affected by the present economy.
“We hope the students will not give up on learning and educating themselves.”
To this end, he thanked the China Ambassador Office of Kota Kinabalu “that has always help and concerned on the State’s education development.”
The cash aid was handed out to each school in Kota Kinabalu Zone, on Friday and Saturday, led by Lim. A total of 47 primary and secondary school students in Kota Kinabalu received the aid. The schools involved were SJK C Chung Hwa KK, SJK C Chung Hwa Likas, SJK C St James KK, SJK C Shan Tao KK, SJK C Yue Min Penampang, SJK C Yick Nam Inanam, SJK C Hwa Siong Putatan, SJK C Lok Yuk Likas, SJK C Anglo Chinese KK, SJK C Chee Hwa, Kota Kinabalu High School, SM Shan Tao, SM Lok Yuk Likas.
