KALABAKAN: Two men have been detained on suspicion of having 12.29gm syabu at Mile 8, Jalan Luasong, here, Friday.

The drugs worth about RM1,200 were seized by the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) and the General Operations Force Battalion 14 patrolling the area. Esscom Commander, Datuk Ahmad Fuah Othman, in a statement, said the duo, aged 25 and 26, were nabbed while inside a Proton Wira at about 9pm. He said inspections on the driver led to the discovery of a transparent packet containing crystal like substance believed to be syabu. Nothing suspicious was found on the passenger, however further inquiry led him to confess that he had consumed drugs a few days earlier. On that note, Ahmad Fuad urged the people especially coastal community to continue collaborating with the security enforcement team by being their eyes and ears.
