Kota Kinabalu: Emphasis will be given to rice production which will be intensified through increasing paddy cultivation to meet domestic needs.For this purpose, an allocation of RM113.15 million has been proposed for the Department of Agriculture for supply and development expenditure, out of which a total of RM32.68 million will be used to implement development projects.
In addition, focus will also be given to the cultivation of fruits, vegetables, cash crops and coconuts to increase income for farmers from RM2,000 to RM4,000 per month.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor said this when tabling the 2021 State Budget here, Friday.
