HAJIJI said RM104.3 million will be allocated to the Welfare Services Department including RM60m to benefit 25,000 recipients comprising People with Disabilities (OKU), senior citizens and single mothers throughout Sabah,” he said.In the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), Hajiji said the State Government allocated a ceiling of RM58.2m to the Welfare Services Department for the construction of facilities for senior citizens and the disabled.
A sum of RM22.7m has been approved for the construction of an “Integrated Complex for People with Disabilities (OKU) and Senior Citizens” as a business hub for OKU and paying senior citizens care centre and a total of RM8.45m is approved for next year.
According to Hajiji, women play a vital role in the development of healthy family and community and they also contribute towards the economic development of the state and country.
