Kota Kinabalu: The State Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry plans to reactivate Sabapak Eco Sdn Bhd, an investment arm under Sabah Parks, to maximise the agency’s revenue. “Revenue is important in maintaining the sustainability of parks under the Ministry,” its Minister Datuk Jafry Arifin said during question time at the State Assembly (DUN) sitting, Tuesday.
He was replying to Nominated Assemblyman Datuk Raime Unggi regarding the Ministry’s efforts to generate more revenue.
Jafry said Sabah’s Kinabalu Geopark is currently in the process of being recognised as a Unesco (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) Global Geopark in efforts to make Sabah a premier international tourist destination.
