KL funds sought to install more CCTVs

Kota Kinabalu: The Local Government and Housing Ministry has applied for allocations from the Federal Government to increase the number of closed-circuit television (CCTV) or video surveillance installed in the districts.

Its Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun who is also Finance Minister II said this in response to a supplementary question by Tanjong Papat assemblyman Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung who wanted to know the number of CCTVs to be increased in Sandakan.

“We will have to depend on the financial capability…we had applied for allocations from the Federal Government to not only increase the number of CCTVs in Sandakan but also in other areas,” he said during question time at the State Legislative Assembly sitting, here, Tuesday.

“I hope the new Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) will submit the detailed needs of the district later.”
