Kota Kinabalu: A 34-year-old man was fined a total of RM4,500 for having unregistered products and cosmetics without labels.Sessions Court Judge Egusra Ali handed the sentence to Chieng Chiew Tie who pleaded guilty to the two charges against him on Monday.
On the first count, Chieng was fined RM2,000 or four months’ jail for having six unregistered products at 3.15pm on June 18, 2019 at the Reload Master in Court Light Industrial Park in Labuan.
The offence under Regulation 7 (1)(a) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetic Regulations 1984 carries a jail term of up to three years, or a fine of up to RM50,000 or both, on conviction.
