Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Law Society wants the Federal Government to urgently enact anti-hopping legislation to prevent elected lawmakers from switching parties and to resolve the political malaise besetting Malaysia once and for all.“The hallmark of a mature political systems does not see democratically elected representatives shifting their allegiance, unlike in Sabah or Malaysia as a whole.
“Political stability is a crucial prerequisite for the proper functioning of a parliamentary government,” said its President Roger Chin (pic), in conjunction with the opening of the Legal Year 2021. The event is not being held this time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
