RANAU: Sabah Star Deputy Youth Chief, Kong Soon Choi distributed food items to more than 200 residents affected by the enforcement of the Tightened Movement Control Order (PKPD) in Kg. Paginatan and Kg. Maringkan.
Donations in the form of vegetable packages were received by Camilus Vincent Ating as the Chairman of the Development and Security Development Committee (JPKK) Kg. Paginatan to represent the residents of the two villages.
According to Kong, his party was called to extend the assistance due to understanding the situation faced by the villagers which is quite difficult to get food supply during the PKPD implementation. Therefore, he took the initiative to provide assistance to ease the burden of the villagers as well as do charity work as a local leader in Ranau.
“Hopefully all the villagers who are subject to the PKPD order continue to persevere and I hope this small contribution can help ease their routine of life during this period,” he explained, who is also the owner of the Sabindo Supermarket.
The handover ceremony took place at Kg. Paginatan and witnessed by Lt. Shamsul Mansor, Chief Operating Officer of the Ranau District Civil Defence Force (APM) and Ruhimin Jaafar, Rela Team Supervisor on duty in both villages.
