Kota Kinabalu: The Tanjung Aru Eco Development (TAED) project, a proposed mixed development project at Tanjung Aru beach, here, is expected to kick-start this year but on a smaller scale and without involving any sea reclamation.Deputy Chief Minister I cum Works Minister, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin (pic), said he was informed by the Chief Minister that the TAED project would proceed, only that the scale would not be as big as originally planned and without any reclamation.
“We will make full benefit of the existing Tanjung Aru beach but not all as there are recreational areas on the other part,” he said, after presenting excellent services awards to State Public Works Department (PWD) staff at its Sri Kinabatangan Hall in Sembulan, Tuesday.
Bung was asked on the status of the project after the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) took over the helm of the State Government in September this year.
