Nur Farini was found guilty of committing the offence in early May 2018 at a reflexology centre in Api–Api Centre, here.
The charge, under Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007, carries a jail term of between three years and 20 years, and liable to fine, on conviction.
In mitigation, Nur Farini, who was under remand since she was charged, requested for a lenient sentence on the grounds that she missed her three children and promised not to commit similar offence in the future.
She was on July 1, 2020 ordered to enter her defence to the charge.
