Cops help put out eatery fire

BEAUFORT: Policemen on duty at the flood evacuation centre here helped put out a fire a restaurant opposite the centre at 1am, Friday.

District Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Mohamad Hasbollah Nenggok said they received an emergency call and deployed two Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicle, one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) along with eight firemen to the location.

“The team arrived at 1.07am and extinguish all sources that could potentially ignite the fire.

“Policemen extinguished the fire that has just started at a grill by isolating the canvas cloth that was near it.
