Man jailed 14 months for having  2.6gm syabu

Kota Kinabalu: A man was sentenced to 14 months’ jail for having 2.6gm of syabu.

Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie meted out the sentence to Goh Chin Siang who pleaded guilty to the charge against him.

He was found having the drug at 11.10am on Sept 9, 2020 by the roadside in Tuaran bypass, here.

Goh committed the offence under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act carries a jail term of up to five years or a fine of up to RM100,000, on conviction.

The court ordered Goh to serve the jail sentence from the date of his arrest.

In another case, a man was jailed seven months also for having 0.25gm of syabu.

Chong Vin Chun admitted to having the drug at 1.30pm on Aug 15, 2020 by the roadside in Inanam.

Inspector Susie Kupit appeared for the prosecution.
