Kota Kinabalu: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), which formed the State government comprising two coalitions – Perikatan Nasional and Barisan Nasional -- plus local-based Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), have pledged to stay intact despite on-going political tension in the peninsula.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor, who is also the GRS Chairman, said leaders of nine political parties – Bersatu, Umno, PBS, STAR Sabah, MCA, MIC, SAPP, PBRS and PAS have sealed their pledges to endorse a political cooperation in the ruling coalition by signing a Memorandum of Understanding, here, on Saturday.
Regardless of the current political scenario in the peninsula, he said GRS have also agreed to ensure the people’s mandate for the coalition to govern Sabah is respected and continued for the sake of political stability and wellbeing of the people.
