PETALING JAYA: Economic affairs minister Mustapa Mohamed has tested positive for Covid-19, his office has confirmed.
Mustapa, the Jeli MP tested positive after being screened upon his arrival in Kota Bharu from Kuala Lumpur yesterday morning.
He is being treated at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II in Kota Bharu.
In a statement, Mustapa’s office said he was in a stable condition.
“On Jan 1, he was screened for Covid-19 and the results came back negative.
“Datuk Seri Mustapa apologises for any inconvenience arising from this.”
Prior to this, other top government officials who contracted Covid-19 included religious affairs minister Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri and deputy environment and water minister Ahmad Masrizal Mohamad.
