Kota Kinabalu: United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) supports the call of the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih 2.0) for a Recall Election Law (REL) to be implemented as an alternative to the Anti-Hop Law (AHL).Its Secretary-General Nelson Angang (pic) said the coalition’s proposal for REL, to deter party hopping among politicians, should be considered by all relevant stakeholders in Malaysia.
This follows a recent webinar organised by Bersih 2.0, entitled “How to Deter Party Hopping in Malaysia – An Exploration of Remedies”, which discussed the implications of the REL and AHL.
Upko was part of the discussion panel alongside DAP’s Anthony Loke, Umno’s Datuk Rahman Dahlan and the coalition’s Dr Wong Chin Huat.
