LAHAD DATU: There is a need for the Government to pay serious attention to the needs of children in rural areas, especially in terms of education and technology.Srikandi Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Exco Mizma Appehdullah said the laptop distribution programme should be reactivated, so that the children may not be left behind in rapidly changing times.
Mizma said children in rural areas need to be exposed to the current technology in order to gain more knowledge and be as competent as children in urban areas.
She said this is vital in view of the Covid-19 pandemic which had caused educational institutes to be closed to curb Covid-19 transmission.
