SANDAKAN: Sandakan MP Vivian Wong said based on the latest updates from Jabatan Air Sabah (JAS), the district may have to endure water supply disruption for a while longer as more maintenance work is carried out at the Segaliud Water Treatment Plant.According to the Department, pump number 1 at the Segaliud Water Treatment Plant which had undergone emergency repair previously, is now ready to resume operation.
However, pump number 2 will need to be taken out for maintenance repair. As a result, water supply from the Segaliud plant to Sandakan will continue to experience considerable reduction, causing low pressure to several locations in Sandakan.
The Segaliud Water Treatment Plant originally was operating with three pumps, but pump number 3 had broken down earlier and has been classified as beyond economical repair.
