Kota Kinabalu: A total of 34 people participated in the National Bodybuilding Level One Specific Coaching Course that took place at the Generation Y Centre Studio, at Wisma UTC from January 6-9.

The four-day course held in conjunction with the Mr Borneo Bodybuilding and Physique (Novice) Championship was conducted by Abd Aziz Admad from Malaysian Bodybuilding Federation (MBBF) with assistance from Joseph Sylvester and  Jeffery Thaddeus.

According to with Sabah Body Building Association (SBBA) President Joannes Staneslous, the course organised by MBBF in collaboration with SBBA with support from the Sabah Sports Council (MSN) was aimed to strengthen the knowledge of prospective coaches towards developing quality bodybuilding and physique athletes in the State.

It was earlier scheduled to be staged in December last year at the same venue but was later cancelled due to factors related to the worsening Covid-19 situation in the country.

Joannes said on Monday that they are glad to be able to complete the course with all participants following strictly the standard operating procedures (SOP) just before the latest implementation of Movement Control Order in the State starting Wednesday.
