SANDAKAN: The Covid-19 outbreak at the Sri Harapan Old Folks Home here is under control despite an increase in infection among its residents and workers.Sabah Community Development and People Wellbeing Minister Shahelmy Yahya (pic) said to date, 17 people from the retirement home had tested positive for the coronavirus.
Ten of them are elderly residents, six cases involve the staff while one is a family member of a staff.
“A total of 71 residents and staff have undergone Covid-19 screening. We are still awaiting the results from 55 others,” he said in a statement, Tuesday.
Shahelmy said sanitisation works have been carried out at the home and strict control measures have been implemented with the help of the People’s Volunteer Corp (Rela).
