Waves wipe out several bridges in Sandakan
Some of the collapsed bridges.
SANDAKAN: Some concrete, semi-concrete and wooden bridges had collapsed in Kg Tinusa 2 here, Monday, following strong waves and tides.

Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Sandakan in a statement said the bridges involved were bridges three, four and five.

Bridge six in junctions three and four were impassable, as the main bridge had collapsed.
However, no casualty had been reported.

APM advised the public to be vigilant in the current weather conditions.

The public can call the MERS 999 line in case of an emergency. APM Sandakan added, so far no temporary evacuation centre is open. Meanwhile, young children had been evacuated to be with their nearest relatives as safety precautions.
