Police warn against spreading fake news 
SANDAKAN: Police will not compromise and will take stern action against individuals who spread inauthentic news, said Sandakan District Police Chief ACP Mohd Azhar Hamin.

He said the community is advised to play a wise role in checking the validity of any current issues and avoid spreading fake news.

“A voice message stating that the district will be hit by the Tsunami due to the continuous rainy weather conditions has now been spread through the WhatsApp.

“These individuals are irresponsible and are believed to create an atmosphere of panic and extreme annoyance among the community,” he said.
