Kota Kinabalu: The State Local Government and Housing Ministry will focus on five key areas to ensure the Ministry achieves its targets and programmes, said its Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic).He said they include (1) transforming delivery, (2) strengthening and sustaining the housing sector (3) implementing sustainable and systematic land use development planning, (4) local authority green initiatives, and (5) to strengthen Native Courts.
To achieve these, Masidi said the Ministry would implement certain measures, which include revising existing by-laws and guidelines.
“Five by-laws and one capital law would need to be reviewed, namely the Local Government Ordinance 1961 and by-laws for (1) buildings, (2) hotels and lodges, (3) advertising, (4) dangerous businesses as well as (5) dog registration and control,”
