ZAMBOANGA CITY: Many residents of Zamboanga City are angry after their own City Drug Enforcement Unit Chief was found positive for illegal drug use.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Director Brig. Gen. Romel Ylagan identified the anti-narcotics unit chief as P/Major Jivertson Pelovello.

He said Pelovello was among the 60 other police personnel who participated in a random drug test last month.

“Pelovello’s drug test result was positive... He was immediately relieved from his post pending further investigation,” Ylagan told reporters Wednesday.
