KK mercy flight for babies

Kuala Lumpur: The Royal Malaysian Air Force mounted a mercy flight from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday for two babies who needed to undergo surgery at the National Heart Institute  (IJN).

RMAF in a statement today said the two babies, both boys, namely Mohammad Zayan Hafeez Abdullah and Muhammad Zul Aris Muhammad Zainulariffin were just three months and a month old respectively.

According to the statement, Mohammad Zayan Hafeez suffers from Mixed Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Drainage (Unobstructed) while Muhammad Zul Aris is afflicted by Clinical Down Syndrome and that they had received treatment at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Kota Kinabalu.

“Accompanying them were their mothers, a medical officer and two nurses. The aircraft left Kota Kinabalu at 7.04 am and arrived at the Subang air base at 9.41 pm,” the statement said.

They were also assisted by Air Flight Sergeants Norfadley Saad and Nazmil Hafis Mohamad Nayan and two technicians, namely Air Corporals Mohd Yazid Sapeei and Muhammad Haziq Shaharuzaman.
