TAWAU: A man who rode a motorcycle with expired road tax in the past seven years perished in a tragic accident

Tawau district police chief ACP Peter Umbuas said the victim, identified as Jumaidin Lanuri, 33, succumbed to severe head injuries at the scene.

“The victim was riding a Yamaha Ego belonging to his friend to Hilltop from the city. He was believed to have lost control and entered the opposite lane before hitting a pedestrian barrier and crashed into the Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) substation cement wall.
“As a result of the incident, the victim crashed into the corner of the SESB cement wall and suffered serious injuries before he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedic.
