Motorcyclist perishes in Tawau mishap 
TAWAU: A man who rode a motorcycle with expired road tax in the past seven years perished in a tragic accident (pic) at Jalan Tg Batu Tengah, here, Sunday.

Tawau district police chief ACP Peter Umbuas said the victim, identified as Jumaidin Lanuri, 33, succumbed to severe head injuries at the scene.

“The victim was riding a Yamaha Ego belonging to his friend to Hilltop from the city. He was believed to have lost control and entered the opposite lane before hitting a pedestrian barrier and crashed into the Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) substation cement wall.

“As a result of the incident, the victim crashed into the corner of the SESB cement wall and suffered serious injuries before he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedic.
