Sabah cases dip again to 282

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded another drop in the number of positive Covid-19 cases Thursday, with 282 cases.More than half of the cases (66.3 per cent or 187 cases) stem from close contact screening, while 63 cases are from symptomatic screening, seven from existing cluster screening, four from workplace screening, one from Social Security Organisation screening and 20 from other categories. State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic) said no new clusters were detected but three fatalities were reported, with two in Lahad Datu and one in Keningau.

He said 311 Covid-19 patients were discharged from the hospital, while 792 remained hospitalised, with 1,836 placed in low-risk quarantine centres (PKRCs) and 19 at temporary detention centres/prisons.
A total of 84 are placed under the Intensive Care Units and 27 require ventilator assistance. Masidi, who is also Sabah’s official Covid-19 spokesperson, also said Sabah will continue to distribute food baskets to targeted groups following the approval of RM31.58 million under the Covid-19 Bantuan Prihatin.
