Govt assures it will continue helping disaster victims

BEAUFORT: The Government is always concerned for the safety of the people and will continue to provide assistance to those in need, be it during natural disaster or the Covid-19 pandemic.Political Secretary to Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister, Datuk Siti Aminah Aching, said because of this the people should not worry about the Government’s capability to provide assistance in the form of food or cash.

She said this while handing over food assistance to 120 families affected by the flood in Kampung Bekalau, here, Wednesday.
Siti Aminah also reminded the Bekalau villagers to continue to be alert and careful as their village is located by the Padas riverbank and, thus, always affected by flood. This year alone, it has flooded twice.
