PAPAR: A Sabah-based activist urged the State and Federal governments to collaborate thoroughly to address the issues faced by the Fire and Rescue Department and their existing equipment.
Speaking to Daily Express¸ Datuk Patrick Sindu (pic) said the department, particularly in Papar, has “outdated” rescue equipment which affected their rescue operation.
He said that this should not be the case for the department, especially with them carrying out dangerous operations such as fire-fighting or Search and Rescue (SAR), which should be viewed seriously by the relevant ministries both at State and Federal levels.
The department needs help in terms of allocations for better equipment.
