WWII bomb found in Labuan safely detonated
LABUAN: A World War II bomb found in a village area of Simpang 11, Kg Jawa here and was successfully detonated today.

Labuan acting police chief DSP Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Ghani said the bomb, weighing 35kg, was found two metres below the ground by a 50-year-old worker who was doing earthwork in the area at 11 am on Thursday.

“After careful examination, our bomb disposal team confirmed that the object is an unexploded ordnance (UXO),” he told Bernama here.

Mohd Ibrahim said the two-foot-long metal military device was detonated at 12.30 pm at a safer place outside of town.
