TAWAU: The perennial weed problem at the children’s playground in Taman Berjaya here, Friday, was finally resolved by the District Council.
It was learnt that the weed grew up to waist-length and the public facility was not looked after well due to the contractor’s problem.
The uncut grass not only caused hygiene problems, but may also be a hiding place for snakes, mosquitoes and thieves, posing a threat to the residents there.
The residents were happy with the action taken by the Tawau Council who sent their personnel to resolve the matter.
