PAPAR: Contraband liquor, cigarettes and firecrackers worth RM2.9million were seized and four individuals detained during an operation carried out by the General Operation Force (GOF) at Towering, Penampang, Monday.
Sabah GOF Commander SAC Mohd Abduh Ismail said monitoring and surveillance were carried out at the location for four hours by teams from the Tiger Platoon and 16th Battalion prior to the bust.
The teams then moved on a premises where they detained the suspects, a local woman aged 39 and three undocumented men believed to be Filipinos aged between 18 and 29.
