TAWAU: A man escaped unscathed after the Toyota Vigo (pic) he was driving was destroyed in a fire at Jalan Ladang Merotai at 10.40am, Thursday.District Fire and Rescue Chief Zulbada Alior said following a MERS999 emergency call received at 10.46am, 10 firefighters along with a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle led by senior officer, Hajim Abdul Malak went to the location 30km away.
The fire was brought under control at 11.20am and the operation ended at 11.29am. No injuries were reported and the victim said he panicked on finding the vehicle he was driving caught fire.
